Carnage in Tennessee
So, I'm over my post-election revelry and the sobering reality of what my statesmen have done has set in. For the first time since Reconstruction, Tennessee is now completely red.
Some of you know I worked pretty hard on a local State House race in 2006, and in the process I learned a ton about what it means to elect Democrats at the state level. It's a hard battle, but one that has kept our state from being as bad as our famously-awful neighbors to the South.
Worst of all: it will never be blue in Tennessee again. Republicans will have the power to redistrict in 2010. We have a LOT of work to do in Tennessee in the weeks, months and years ahead.
