Political Science

While I recover from some painful dental work today, I'll leave you with this to ponder. It kept coming to mind all weekend as right-wing folks left nasty comments on my blog.

Randy Newman - Political Science

No one likes us-I don't know why
We may not be perfect, but heaven knows we try
But all around, even our old friends put us down
Let's drop the big one and see what happens

We give them money-but are they grateful?
No, they're spiteful and they're hateful
They don't respect us-so let's surprise them
We'll drop the big one and pulverize them

Asia's crowded and Europe's too old
Africa is far too hot
And Canada's too cold
And South America stole our name
Let's drop the big one
There'll be no one left to blame us

We'll save Australia
Don't wanna hurt no kangaroo
We'll build an All American amusement park there
They got surfin', too

Boom goes London and boom Paree
More room for you and more room for me
And every city the whole world round
Will just be another American town
Oh, how peaceful it will be
We'll set everybody free
You'll wear a Japanese kimono
And there'll be Italian shoes for me

They all hate us anyhow
So let's drop the big one now
Let's drop the big one now

Comments:
Ok TL,
Being the devout conservative I am I realize that we can't drop the big one "everywhere" but please, at least France. And it wouldn't have to be those nasty conventional nukes with all that radioactive fall-out that would damage the enviornment. If you would promise to give us France we would promise "just" to use neutron bombs to protect the enviornment....whatya say? The Dems might steal a few votes from the right next election cycle! =)
Well I hope the tooth is feeling better, thanks for the catchy tune. **blink**

Mike, Mike, Mike-

What you fail to realize is that liberals don't like France that much, either. Remember who they give hell to - they don't show up on Main Street, USA. They are mean to us liberals when we go off to Europe to find ourselves after college. :)

We just want to practice an appeasement and containment policy against the French.

Really, you don't know us very well at all.

Thank God for pain medicine.

I love Randy Newman. Yes, yes, yes. And now his song is more relevant than ever before.

Ahhh Randy Newman, creator of that classic hit about the value and worth of the height deprived
1978's "Short People"

Made me soooo glad to be tall.. ;)

I'm on a huge Randy Newman kick at the moment. I also love "Mr. President" and "Feels Like Home" right now.

I actually saw him play with the CSO at RIverbend last year in what was one of the most completely underappreciated Riverbend performances ever.

The score from "The Natural" cannot be matched.
