Let's Dance (With running Grammar Commentary!)

Since "Evil Conservative" didn't leave me an e-mail address when he posted his ever-so-trolly comment below, I guess that means he wants to be taken to the woodshed right up here.

(And look, I'll give you your very own running grammar, spelling and punctuation lesson, no charge!)

May I be so bold as to posit that Al Gore might not be the most important thing you should be focusing on? Do the math, man. More people want cleaner air than dirtier air. More people want troops ready to protect us than off getting killed in a silly quagmire with no end in sight. More people want a balanced budget than a lifetime of insurmountable debt. More people want their Social Security protected instead of privatized.

(That's regardless of, not "regardless to" or "regardless if" if you're keeping score at home.)

You know what, let's talk about gas prices. Let's talk about what Republicans have done to control gas prices. Oh, wait, not a thing. It took a massive hurricane horning in on oil company profits before Republicans even bothered to pay attention. Understandable, since the profits they take from insider trading off the family business makes it easy to ignore those numbers at the pump.

(You might be surprised to learn that the words how and truly don't include the letter e. But I digress...)

And speaking of things that are easy to ignore, how do you think it will look to have the pictures of Republicans laughing about reclining on the veranda sipping mint juleps while Al Gore saw there was a problem with the hurricane response and just rented his own damn plane to rescue people?

(When you connect two independent clauses with a comma, you must include a word to link them, or you will write run-on sentences. And, but, nor, for, yet and so would also be acceptable.)

But here's the part I love: a Republican talking about the integrity of the vote, This from a party that removed thousands and thousands of eligible voters from the rolls in Florida (you are from Florida, right?) and Ohio because they shared the same name as a felon. This from a party that only removed black felons from the voter rolls, but certainly no Hispanics. And yes, this from a party that is willing to insist that homeless people carry an ID to the polls, but that refuses to hold the company making the voting machine accountable that every vote will get counted. Yeah, Republicans are just models of electoral fairness.

(The apostrophe does not make words plural, whether acronyms like IDs or simple words like babies.)

So, talk about Al Gore all you like, Evil Conservative. Talk about Hillary Clinton, too. Talk all you want about Jesse Jackson and Howard Dean and Harold Ford and Nancy Pelosi, too. Because while you are busy with your personal attacks, we'll be busy asking the question the Republican party fears more than any in the world:

Are you better off now than you were six years ago?

Yes, I shudder to think how little cover Republicans will have in 2006 when faced with a stagnant economy, a failed war, more poor people, an unprecedented national debt, party leaders in the House, Senate and White House all under criminal investigation and a nation fed up with platitudes and lies.

(Oh, and for goodness' sake, would you learn to spell? That's cemetery and hypocrites.)

You'll have plenty of time to worry about Al Gore, Evil, but if I were you, I'd be focused on not getting completely dominated in the midterms next year.

Comments:
I'm sure the spelling and grammer left a lot to be desired. I was typing while being over emotional about the subject and didn't pay attention to grammer and spelling.
What's totally hilarious is that THAT is what you focused on. Not the thoughts or issues but grammer and spelling. You can TRY and say
" look here, it's like a poll tax or racist policies from the distant past." but you are clueless. It's nothing of the sort. You Dems bring out your race card mouth pieces like Jackson and Sharpton spewing out that same old tripe but it's not working anymore. The people aren't falling for it. In Houston at the Astrodome I saw white people opening thier homes to the poorest of blacks no questions asked. All over ALL the effected states I saw white people in boats rescuing blacks as well as anyone else. Private citizens, who had not a racial thought in thier head helping anyone who needed it regardless of race, wealth etc. I saw brotherhood everywhere I looked. As time passes we see how much damage the liberal media did with their unchecked, unsupported stories of alleged violence, rapes and murders at tyhe Superdome. All turned out to be a lie and they never bothered to check. This desire to print whatever nastyness they can to sell a paper, make the TV etc caused peoples suffering to continue longer than need be. People may even have died as a result of their mis-information but no-one takes them to task.
You Dems better start reading the tea leaves because your time here is up unless you figure it out.
Keep pushing Gore TL...please as a favor to me.

BTW, notice I didn't much worry about spelling or grammer again. My bad! Muahahahahahahah (evil laugh)

If you'll notice, I did focus on your arguments, I just provided you with some spelling and grammar assistance as a favor so you look less dumb when you post half-cocked troll comments on other people's blogs.

Funny enough, I didn't say a thing about a poll tax. And you know, Evil, here is the problem I have with all those private citizens taking care of those evacuees: that is the government's job. Even the most ridiculous and narrow-minded conservative definition of government includes the fact that government's primarily responsibility is the safety of its people. Oh, and let's not forget what Gore was doing during the hurricane while Bush watched on TV and played his guitar: He chartered his own planes and got people out of New Orleans.

Anyway, I don't live on my blog and I wish you wouldn't either.

It is NOT the governments job to "save" Louisiana by itself. The state and local governments ARE the first responders. Thats the way it is, those are the procedures. It is not the taxpayers responsibility to do the states job when the state drops the ball. Louisiana didn't implement their disaster protocals, didn't call for Government help, actually turned away help because they were worried how they would look politically if the feds came in and took over. Your idea of what is the governments responsibility is a truely socialist viewpoint. Maybe we should just federalize the state and call it D.C. South.

And as far as that lame statement about living on your blog, I made two posts. They must have struck a nerve if two posts is considered living here. In the 60 + yrs Democrats have run that state poverty has not gotten ANY better. Even though more and more is spent on education the illiteracy rate doesn't get better. And all those MILLIONS they took in federal matching funds to maintain and update the levee's they used for other things....They haven't gotten it right yet, maybe it's time for a different point of view.

I'm quite curious who will get the nominations in both paries. If the Dems can't win the next presidential it says a LOT about where they stand in the eyes of the American public. Of course the Republicans will have confusing ballots whereever there are senior citizens.

Isn't a hippocrite the small cousin of the hippotamus and lives in the dark recesses of the Congo?

Actually, Evil, you're sort of arguing against yourself there. The only "help" that the Governor of Louisiana turned away was the very thing you oppose: federalizing her state. No governor, no matter how bad the situation, should do that.

And by the way, the levees are a federal responsibility as an Army Corps of Engineers project. The Bush administration cut funding for the program.

Dadvocate, thanks for the civil comment :) I think Harold Ford put it very well when he said that Republicans have opened up a hole wide enough to drive a truck through for Democrats. They just have to actually do it.

The 2006 midterms will be very telling.

Evil,

I pulled the plug on your last comment for what you said about Kennedy. I'm not going to tolerate slander. If you want to repost without that, feel free, though I'm certainly done responding to you.

That's typical. The Dems constantly slander the Presidant and other Republicans. They say horrible, unjustified statements ALL the time. Bush doesn't whine about it. So you censor my post for stating facts. He left that woman to die and no-one doubts his love for bottle. I breezed through some of your posts and found many comments that, though not as strong as mine, could be considered slander.
You guys have called Bush a deserter with nothing but bogus, forged papers to back them. I have lost track of all the nasty unsubstantiated things the left have said about Bush,...and others.
Yet go ahead censor me. Democrats, supposedly all for freedom of thought and expression but hey censor me. All the nastiness Kennedy says day in and day out but censor me for making comments about things he HAS done.
Like this DeLay thing. Nazi Pelosi and the same old cry-babies come out and say his indictment is proof of all out Republican corruption. They have said the man is guilty without even a trial.
Now here's a bit of truth for you guys to choke on. This political ruse the Dems are doing to hurt DeLay will fail in the end. This prosecuter tried through 5 different grand juries to get DeLay
indicted and finally on the 6th he got a indictment for a low grade catch all charge of conspiracy. No details, nothing. Now heres the really really nice part. This guy also charge like 10 of the companies that gave the donations for giving illegal donations THEN told those companies that if they made large donations to his pet peeve political policy think tank he would drop all the charges. He created AND runs this think tank. Five of those companies took him up. That's extortion. Right out in the open. Who's gonna charge HIM? Where's the press on this huh TL? No where cuz he's a Democratic Political hack who has been heard and recorded making statements about how he was gonna "GET" DeLay if ity was the last thing he did. When I was Senatorial District Chairman in Houston during the 2000 elections he tried the same political stunt on Kate Hutchinson. He was proven wrong but that wasn't his reason for doing it. It was to hurt her image during election times. Now he's targeting DeLay to get him to do the perp walk and for the negative press. Can't the Dems be upfront and honest about anything. I don't mean the common Dems, the Dem voters but I do mean the lelcted and appointed Dems. Your party is so torn apart and fractionalized because of a lack of focus and any sort of solid plan other than speak bad of Reps.
You know you could have just deleted the sentance instead of the whole post, or actually you could have left the post and responded to my statements. Only problem TL is you CAN'T explain away my statements because they are BASED in fact.
Have a great day!
